SOUTH FLORIDA BUTTERFLY PEACOCK BASSHere are the highlights from the last trip ... The skies where overcast, with the threat of rain ever present but off we went. The weather has been hot so I decided to try our luck on some points that sloped down to 23 feet deep, using both live bait and crankbaits my client was able to boat Sixty-five peacocks in a little over 4 hours. The fish averaged between two and two and a half pounds and the day was topped with a nice seven pounder being caught. We decided to call it a day early when the rain moved in and came down like a wall of water, but what a morning did we have!!! Come and experience South Florida's finest Peacock Bass fishing (or should we say catching) 50+ fish days are normally common. Peacock bass can be found in the various lakes and canals that thread their way throughout Dade, Broward and Palm Beach Counties in Southeast Florida. Pound for pound the Peacock will put both the Largemouth and Smallmouth Bass to shame when it comes to a fight, one of our clients called them a smallmouth on steriods ... thumb burning power runs and sky high acrobatics ... oh what fun!!! Have I got your attention yet? If so, read on and we will tell you how you too can experience the thrill of catching a Peacock Bass that will qualify you for a Florida Big Fish Citation or maybe even the next IFGA World Record. By nature the butterfly peacock bass is aggressive, the meanest and toughest kid on the block and will prove it every chance they get ... It is a fish so powerful that it can break rods, burnout reels, straighten hooks or tear the hardware right out of your lures. You may think we are exaggerating about the fight of the peacock bass. Don't! The larger they get, the meaner they get and the better they will fight. Once hooked these fish will come flying out of the water with head-shaking acrobatics that are second to none, if they haven’t thrown the hook or broken something, they will then make powerful runs, that will tax even the best reels. Even a three or four pound peacock can wear a person out, thankfully they top out at around ten pounds. Imagine catching fifty or more fish a day that act this way! Take a look at some of the Peacock's that our clients have caught. Of course we recommend that for your first trip fishing for Peacock's, you should hire the services of a guide. We stress the word service in our name check out our rates, we believe that you will find them to be more than reasonable for the services we are ready to provide you.
